What this spread is
This relationship spread looks at two positions plus a shared middle. You can use it for romance, friendship, or a working partnership. It is still not a report on someone who is not in the room. If you read it about a partner, stay humble: you are reading your perception and your choices.
Number of cards
This layout uses 6 cards.
When to use it
Use it when a relationship has history, not for celebrity speculation or for people who have asked not to be analyzed. It is most ethical when both people might benefit from clearer language.
Card positions
Your current stance.
How the other person or the other side of the partnership appears in this question—as a role, not as a mind-read.
What the connection itself is asking for.
What is working.
What is expensive.
Something you can actually do, preferably together or in your own behavior.
How to perform the reading
Sit with a specific relationship, not "love" in the abstract. Draw six cards in two columns of three, or in a hexagon. Read 1 and 2 as a pair, then 3 as the third thing they make. Strength and strain should both be allowed to be ordinary: chores, tone, time.
Example interpretation
You: Knight of Pentacles. Other: Queen of Wands. Bond: Temperance. Strength: Three of Pentacles. Strain: Five of Wands. Practice: Four of Swords. A study reading: you are slow and dutiful; they bring heat and visibility; the bond wants mixing, not winning; you already know how to build; friction is about competing tempos; the practice is scheduled rest so the contest cools. No card here marries anyone.
Reflection questions
- What is my job in this bond this month?
- Where am I assigning a court card as a whole human?
- What shared practice is smaller than a personality rebuild?
